Line of Duty Series 3 Begins Thursday 24 March

BBC has confirmed today that Line of Duty series 3 will begin on Thursday 24 March at 9PM on BBC Two.

Daniel Mays stars as Sergeant Danny Waldron:
The series opens with the fatal shooting of a criminal suspect by an armed response unit led by Sergeant Danny Waldron (Daniel Mays).

Danny and his team claim they acted in self-defence, but AC-12, led by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), gather evidence that suggests that this was a deliberate killing. Under interview, Danny confidently rebuts all of AC-12’s accusations that he acted unlawfully, so DC Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) is sent undercover into Danny’s team to find out more.

Ingratiating herself to her new colleagues, Kate is quick to identify tensions and conflict between Danny and his team. But when Kate’s own conduct comes under scrutiny she finds herself sidelined from an armed drugs raid that goes very badly wrong.

Line of Duty series 3 consists of 6 episodes through 28 April.

Tune in to BBC Two every Thursday evening at 9PM for this thrilling series.

Shakespeare Solos – The Guardian

The Guardian today released the second portion of their #ShakespeareSolos today.
Daniel Mays features with an incredible reading from Macbeth Act II, Scene I.

Read about Danny’s filming of the performance: “I love how dynamic the speech is, how packed full of tension. There is a great journey from the beginning to the end of it … Macbeth is in such a state of panic that he is hallucinating. His mind is playing horrendous tricks on him. As the speech unfolds he goes through this process of psyching himself up [for the murder of Duncan]. There’s an amazing sense of foreboding.”

Commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare The Guardian asked leading actors to perform some of Shakespeare’s greatest speeches. #ShakespeareSolos
