Stand Up To Cancer

When we stand up, we save lives.

Daniel Mays has joined the stellar lineup of those supporting Stand Up To Cancer.

Watch the film here.

Daniel Mays said “Stand Up To Cancer is an incredible campaign that I am proud to be part of this year. This film shows the difference we all can make when we take a stand – now is the time to Stand Up together to tackle this relentless disease. Researchers and scientists are making progress in the labs every day – let’s keep standing with them until we can banish cancer to the history books.”

A stellar line-up, including Daniel Mays, David Oyelowo, Paralympian Amy Conroy and actors Dame Harriet Walter, Jason Watkins, and Kadiff Kirwan have joined forces in a thought-provoking short film for Stand Up To Cancer.

Marking the return of the joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, the film highlights the positive change which can be achieved when humanity stands up for what it believes in. The famous faces appear alongside cancer patients, their loved ones, and medical staff as they call upon the nation to Stand Up To Cancer.

The film, produced by Nonsense London, opens with Kadiff Kirwan watching footage of Black Lives Matter protests and a woman following the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination programme. It then cuts to David Oyelowo reflecting on how standing up “builds community, changes history and shapes the future.”

If you are able to, we encourage you to donate to this very worthy cause at the Stand Up To Cancer website.

Thank you!

#MomentsofJoy

Daniel Mays announced today that he is part of the #MomentsofJoy social media campaign in collaboration with Mojo Dementia Support:

From the Mojo Dementia Support website: At this time, especially during lockdown, older members of the family are often most isolated. This is made even harder if you’re supporting a loved one with dementia.

The Moments of Joy movement is all about sending an expression of love to family and friends who you can’t be with during lockdown, especially those forced to shield through age or illness.

We hope that you will join in and express your #momentsofjoy on your social media accounts.

BGC Charity Day

Daniel Mays took part in the BGC Charity Day at Sunrise Brokers in London. Danny was representing the wonderful charity Haven House Children’s Hospice.

Every year, Cantor Fitzgerald and their affiliates, BGC Partners and GFI Group, in conjunction with the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, commemorate their 658 friends and colleagues and 61 Eurobrokers employees who perished on September 11, 2001 by distributing 100% of their global revenues on Charity Day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and dozens of charities around the world. Since its inception, Charity Day has raised approximately $159 million globally. Each anniversary is a poignant occasion for the company. Charity Day is their way of turning a tragic day into one that is positive and uplifting by helping others.
