The Royal Court Interview – #60YearsNew

The Royal Court has released their full interview with Daniel Mays for their 60 Years New celebration:

Danny explains his appreciation for The Royal Court:

“It felt like how I was as an actor it just seemed to be a fantastic fit.” And that it “feels like home to me.  It was the place where I was able to grow as an actor. It allowed me a space to establish myself.”

Speaking about Motortown by Simon Stephens:
“I feel incredibly honoured that somebody of Simon’s talent would write a piece so challenging and with such emotional range and dexterity in it. It was an absolutely wonderful experience for me.”

As a performer, Danny wholeheartedly believes in what The Royal Court stands for. Danny says that if The Royal Court didn’t exist, he doesn’t think that he would be the actor that he is today.

You can view all of the interviews with actors, writers, and directors at the Royal Court’s 60 Years New dedicated website.
