Daniel Mays Joins Cast of The Caretaker At The Old Vic

We are happy to announce that Daniel Mays has joined the cast of Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker at The Old Vic.

When it premiered in 1960, The Caretaker changed the face of modern theatre. Now Harold Pinter’s groundbreaking classic comes to The Old Vic in a new production directed by Matthew Warchus.

Disturbed handyman Aston has invited an irascible tramp to stay with him at his brother’s jumbled London flat. At first it seems that the manipulative guest will take advantage of his vulnerable host. But when Aston’s brother Mick arrives, an enigmatic power struggle emerges between the three men that is in equal parts menacing, touching and darkly comic.

Daniel Mays stars as Aston.  Timothy Spall stars as Davies and rounding out this amazing cast is George Mackay as Mick.

Community Service – BBC Radio 4

You can catch up with Community Service on BBC iPlayer Radio.

Written by Jonny O’Neill and starring Daniel Mays, Leo Bill, and Katie Redford.

Danny Mays stars as Tommy, a young man in court for the first time and facing consequences that risk putting his whole life in jeopardy.

Tommy has spent his life being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whether it’s problems at school or scrapes with the law, he has a fabled knack of attracting trouble. But this time his predicament is harder to laugh off. Writer Jonny O’Neill’s moving and funny character study follows Tommy over the course of his first day in a London Magistrates’ Court, and sees him face some uncomfortable, but perhaps necessary, truths.

Community Service will be available via BBC iPlayer shortly after broadcast.
