Daniel Mays Wraps Filming of The Limehouse Golem

Daniel Mays has recently wrapped filming of Number 9 Films’ The Limehouse Golem.  Currently filming, Danny stars as George Flood in the Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass & X-Men First Class writer) film adaptation of the 1994 novel Dan Leno and the Limehouse Golem.

Other previously announced cast includes Douglas Booth, Olivia Cooke, and Morgan Watkins.

The story is set in 19th century London, set amongst the music halls and pantomimes of Victorian London and revolving around a series of murders. The citizens of London believe a mythical creature, by the name of Golem, is to blame.

The Limehouse Golem is developed with the assistance of the BFI and Film4, director Juan Carlos Medina (Insensibles) will direct. Other Number 9 Films are Made in Dagenham and Byzantium, both of which Danny had starring roles in.

We will have more information on release date, etc. as it is announced.

Dad’s Army Character Posters Released – New Trailer on 22 October

Universal Pictures UK has released new promo images for the forthcoming Dad’s Army film. Featuring the Walmington on Sea home guards.

A new trailer is released Thursday 22 October.

Daniel Mays is Private Joe Walker in the Dad’s Army film that will be released in cinemas on 5 February 2016. The Dad’s Army cast also includes Michael Gambon, Bill Nighy, Tony Jones, Tom Courtenay, Blake Harrision, Catherine Zeta Jones, and many more!

News Updates Week of 5 October 2015

News updates for this week:

(added 7 October): Daniel Mays and Leo Bill will be starring in a new BBC Radio play by Jonny O’Neill called “Community Service.” This new radio play is adapted from O’Neill’s stage play of the same name and is set in Bows Magistrate’s Court. It gives a look at life in Modern-day East London. As always, we will have more updates on this exciting new project nearer to transmission time.

– The Red Lion production ended at The National Theatre last week.  Congratulations to Daniel Mays, Calvin Demba, and Peter Wight on a fantastic run.

– LA Productions amazing production of Common has been nominated for an international Emmy award for best tv movie/miniseries.  The awards ceremony is 23 November in New York City. Congratulations and best of luck to all involved!

Vote For Daniel Mays in the NTA Awards Long List!

Daniel Mays has been nominated for the NTA Awards long list for Best Drama Performance for his portrayal of Samuel Pepys in ITV’s The Great Fire.

You can vote at the NTA website for the long list (once per email address, of course!)
Voting close at 23:59 on Sunday 18 October. The short list of nominees will be announced closer to January 2016.

The 21st annual NTAs awards ceremony will be held on 20 January 2016 at the O2 in London.

#BGCCharityDay – 11 September 2015

Earlier today Daniel Mays participated in the annual September 11th  BGC Charity Day in support of Haven House Children’s Hospice:

Every year, BGC Partners and Cantor Fitzgerald, in conjunction with the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, commemorate the 658 friends and colleagues who perished on September 11, 2001. 100% of the their global revenues on Charity Day are distributed to selected charities around the world.

For the fourth year running Haven House have been selected as a beneficiary of the day. It is a very exciting event and attended by many celebrities and sports personalities as well as some of the beneficiaries of Haven House. We are delighted that this year representing Haven House are Barry Hearn, our Patron, entrepreneur Michelle Mone OBE, TV and stage star Christopher Biggins, football manager Harry Redknapp, TV personality, Jason Leonard RFU President, Actor Daniel Mays and a host of Tottenham Hotspur Legends. 

In the past the event has raised over £140,000 in aid of Haven House Children’s Hospice enabling us to continue our care for life-limited children and their families.

Thanks and congratulations to BGC Partners and Haven House Children’s Hospice on another successful Charity Day!
